Caravaggio

2005

St. Petersburg, November 2005

Exhibition "Caravaggio at the Hermitage: a painting, a fragrance" inspired by Caravaggio’s famous painting, exposed in the largest museum in the world.

In front of the painting, a console has been placed with a sequence of 9 cylinders containing gel with many notes available in the painting: six flower notes (iris, daisy, jasmine, orange leaf, rose hip and damask rose) and three fruit notes in the "still life" (figs, plums and pears). One tenth olfactive point, located in the center of player’s projection on the table top, shows the final fragrance: Caravaggio. An ancient and elaborated bouquet, conceived for the magnificent interiors of the Hermitage and intended as a limited edition with the lute player’s image, exclusively made for the Hermitage Museum.
